Looking for a small line-up to perform songs around TX. I have 30+ original songs, a released album, an international fanbase (10,000 unique listeners and 250,000+ streams) but I am new to Austin and have no particular fanbase here. I’m down to co-write new stuff and/or perform your songs and covers as well. Honestly I’m open to all kinds of collaborations and possibilities including side projects, etc. down the road.
A little about me: I’m in an indie band, and we don’t care about labels or pursuing label support. We do everything ourselves and I’ve learned a lot about online marketing and growing audiences that way. My bandmates and I got split up during all the covid stuff and now I live in Austin while they live in another state. I’m looking for a complimentary lineup that can play here but also combine with my bandmates down the road. Genre is an overlap of alternative rock, post-industrial, and hard rock. Think NIN meets Deftones meets Radiohead. The live performance could be heavy, light, more live or more electronic. It really just depends on how the lineup shakes out.
In the short term I would want to develop interpretations of existing material to accommodate the new lineup, but I am looking for solid mutual collaboration, investment, and relationship. If you just want to just show up and play the music without having to think too much about it, that’s cool too. But I’m open to lots of things is all I’m saying. Music is what I do full time, so I’m looking for people who have time to communicate, write, and rehearse fairly often.
I’m looking for any of the following:
– modular synth & sample person (queuing sampler, manipulating live synths, beats, rhythms and effects, etc)
– guitarist / lap steel / pedal steel
– drummer / percussionist
I’m open to all kinds of combinations, for instance a percussionist replacing a drummer or even all synth drums, someone who doubles on guitar occasionally while hammering an anvil, etc. the music can be played in lots of different ways. That said, the music is definitely on the serious side, but I’m looking for something interesting.
So, if you like experimental rock that’s a bit on the dark side, send me an email. I’d like to chat a bit back and forth first and see if we’re a good communication fit and then let’s meet up at a bar somewhere and discuss possibilities.
