Original artist with working, professional, batop-notch-notch, precise, quality players, sets that are a mix of originals and covers, gigs mostly around Central Texas, a short tour set in the fall, with an amazing lead guitarist who will unfortunately be departing our band in the near future. As devastated and said as we are that he is leaving (although we still love him and wish him the best in his future endeavors), we are too busy and goal-oriented to allow it to slow us down.
What we need is a comparable replacement: a fast picking, tasteful, lead guitarist who can accurately play many styles, from authentic, clean, chicken-picking country, to dirty, Southern rocking, from soaring, blues shredding, to beautiful, haunting, textural soundscapes, from crunchy, hard, basic, riff rocking, to interestingly dissonant, jazzy scales. We need someone who is willing to do their homework and nail the parts, who is dependable in every way, including professional level, well maintained, great sounding gear, dependable transportation, and punctuality. Tours and gigs outside of Central Texas will not require personal transportation, but rehearsals and local gigs will. Although in the beginning, while getting a new player up to speed, we will require weekly rehearsals, the goal is to be playing more live gigs than rehearsals, and eventually only be hitting the rehearsal studio once or twice a month, for working on new originals and occasional new covers.
We all have multiple gigs and/or day jobs and don’t have time for a great number of try-outs, so we are asking for a resume/bio and samples of work, including live videos or recordings – no downloads accepted, links only, please, except if you don’t have an online resume/bio, it can be included in the body of the email. We also don’t have a lot of time for fielding unnecessary questions, so please, if you think you may be interested, follow the format and when we see the qualities we are looking for, then we will happily open up a dialogue and send you the materials you will redecidingdecide if we may be a good fit for you. Wewell-thought-outht out reasons for doing things this way, since in the past we have had players (that were not a good fit for us) hound and harass us to join our band, so we prefer anonymity until we see a viable candidate.
Our current guitarist is being very accommodating and staying until we find just the right player, which is lucky for us and affords us the convenience of being very picky, taking our time, and finding the perfect fit. Thank you for taking the time to read this ad, and double thanks if you opt to respond!
